Getchya Homemade Pizza Here!

Homemade Pizza

We sometimes make thick homemade pan pizzas around here because... well, who am I to deny a Princess her request?

We start out with Betty Crocker's Homemade Pizza Dough recipe. It's super easy and I usually have all of the ingredients on hand. (It does require yeast).

Let me tell you, that dough sure does rise! I use a 13 inch baking sheet, but I could go bigger! In any case, we end up with a thick crust, but nobody around here is complaining!

After pressing the dough into the baking sheet, I baste the edges with a mixture of melted butter, oregano, basil, garlic powder, and salt. Then I pre-bake it for about five minutes. Then we set about the toppings.

Spinach Alfredo Pizza:

-Alfredo Sauce from a jar
-A thin layer of shredded mozzarella cheese
-A generous spreading of frozen spinach, thawed and pressed in a sieve (to remove every drop of moisture)
-A generous spreading of petite diced tomatoes
-Another layer of shredded mozzarella cheese
-A generous sprinkling of Feta cheese crumbles

Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza:

- Tomato Sauce (pizza or pasta sauce)
-A thin layer of shredded mozzarella cheese
-A generous layer of cooked ground beef
-A generous layer of real bacon pieces
-A layer of shredded cheddar cheese

I baste the crust once more with the butter mixture, and then bake them at 425 degrees for about fifteen minutes, depending on how thick the crust is, and how heavy loaded it is with toppings. You can decide for yourself if it needs any longer.

YUM!
